Join us for the 17th year of our celebration of "Healing Spirits, Sacred Songs". You'll enjoy an uplifting, sacred concert featuring Grammy Award winner, Douglas Blue Feather, on the Native American flute. Holly Moretti will lead The Cosmic Soul Band, joined by Bonnie Shiplet, as they share their beautiful vocal harmonies this evening as well. Church members will be offering spiritual healings amidst the sacred music. The evening will start from 6:00 to 6:45 PM with spiritual healings by gifted church members. Grammy Award winner, Douglas Blue Feather, will perform Native American flute music which will provide the background ambience for the healings. His peaceful presence will grace the moments during this portion of the program. Douglas Blue Feather is recognized as one of the most prolific and accomplished Native American flutists today and is the recipient of many awards and distinctions. He will also have CDs for sale, including his newest release, Timeless, in addition to High Spirits. You can also purchase his Native American style flutes, sweetgrass, sage, feather fans and dream catchers after the concert. Then, experience the revival of the Cosmic Soul Band with Holly Moretti, assisted by Bonny Shiplet, and additional band members on guitar, violin and other instruments. They will combine beautiful vocal harmonies to perform Christmas carols and hymns, as well as traditional and new chants for peace on earth from 7:00 to 7:45 PM. This will be followed by another performance by Douglas Blue Feather from 7:45 to 8:00 PM. At that time, the Cosmic Soul Band will return to the stage to finish the evening's sacred music until 8:30 PM. We encourage you to chant and sing along with the variety of uplifting musical selections that will be featured. Holly Moretti is a member of the Bhakti Mamas. She grew up sharing gospel music with her family at churches in Ohio and Kentucky. She teaches yoga and regularly performs at local churches for their Sunday services. COST: Suggested admission is $10 with more if you are so inclined. People who are financially challenged may pay what they can, or nothing at all. No one will be turned away. The net proceeds will be given to the musicians. HISTORY OF THE CHURCH: The Christian Spiritualist Temple was built in 1854 and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It is among the oldest churches in Columbus. It has been in continuous use as a spiritualist church since 1901 and is the largest independent spiritualist church in Ohio. The church features beautiful architectural elements, stained glass windows and the original 12 foot tall wooden pipes from the organ that is no longer in existence.
