A total of 26 Engineers, lawyers, executives and state lawmakers have applied to fill a seat on the Public Utilities Commission of Ohio.Commissioner and former Columbus Utilities Director Cheryl Roberto is scheduled to leave the seat on Monday. Applicants include two Democrats - State Senator Shirley Smith, and State Representative Sandra Williams. PUCO staffers, an Ohio Environmental Protection Agency attorney, and those listing experience in energy, telecommunications, transportation and fossil fuels also applied. Governor John Kasich will make the final choice.
