Accused Local Rapist Accepts Plea Bargain

The Columbus man charged with raping four women in 2014 will serve probation on abduction charges in a deal with prosecutors. 53-year-old Darnell Banks entered an Alford plea to the charges. Prosecutors say they lacked sufficient evidence to pursue tougher charges. Banks raped four women between October 2013 and May 2014 on the north and west sides. Police say the victims all had previously been arrested for prostitution.
