AEP 2Q Profit Down

Columbus-based American Electric Power is reporting a decline in second quarter profit and flat sales figures, due to weak demand for electricity. AEP says its 338 million dollar profit is 24 million below that of the second quarter last year. Sales held at 3.6 billion dollars.
