AEP To Raise Rates

The Public Utilities Commission of Ohio has approved a seven year plan by Columbus-based American Electric Power to recover the costs of fuel from its customers.

Under the plan, a typical customer will pay 2 to 3 dollars more per month to the help the company recover 642 million dollars in fuel costs incurred over the past three years. The action begins to resolve issues from the commission's 2009 approval of a three-year rate plan.
