AEP Seeks Rate Cut

Columbus-based American Electric Power is planning to cut rates for most residential customers by 12.6 percent. The Public Utilities Commission of Ohio holds hearings on the request next week. If approved, the cuts would take effect in June of next year. AEP says the cuts are based on forecasts of market conditions next year. The utility will be purchasing electricity through an auction process.
