Akron Mayor Dan Horrigan says police chief James Nice was forced by the mayor to resign over the weekend in part because of his use of a racial slur in a private conversation. Nice was accused of misconduct involving an investigation into his nephew, having a sexual relationship with a member of the police force and making "derogatory remarks." Horrigan now says Nice used a slur against African-Americans.
