Alcohol, Speed Factors In Death Of College Football Player

Butler County Sheriff's deputies say speed and alcohol were factors in the single-vehicle crash that killed the driver and a Cincinnati football player last month.Deputies say the vehicle was traveling 85 mph within seconds of the crash that killed 18-year-old driver and Miami University freshman Sean VanDyne. University of Cincinnati offensive lineman Ben Flick also was killed and two other UC players were injured. The speed limit in that area is 45 mph. Deputies say VanDyne had a blood-alcohol level nearly three times the legal limit. The four were returning from the Bearcats/Redhawks game in Oxford.
