Attorneys for accused serial killer Shawn Grate are asking an Ashland County judge to declare him not guilty by reason of insanity. Grate is charged with killing two Ashland women earlier this year and is a suspect in other slayings in Marion and Richland Counties. The judge has scheduled a competency hearing for next month.
