Amstuz Proposes Income Tax Cut

Republican Ohio House Finance Committee Chair Ron Amstutz says a proposal from GOP Governor John Kasich to expand the state sales tax is dead. But Amstutz' proposal to cut the state income tax by 20 percent for families and by 50 percent for small businesses remains alive. Kasich wants a net tax cut of 1.4 billion dollars over 3 years funded mostly by applying a sales tax to dozens of services. That has come under fire from Democrats, Republicans, and businesses as unfair. Amstuz tells Statehouse correspondent Bill Cohen the sales tax expansion would put an unfair burden on companies.
