Anti-Fracking Measure Won't Be On This Year's Columbus Ballot

Mar 24, 2017

The Franklin County Board of Elections says an environmental group that wanted to put a fracking ban onto the Columbus ballot this fall failed to gather enough valid petition signatures.

The board says nearly 78 hundred of the more than 11 thousand signatures submitted to the City Clerk are valid. Nearly 89 hundred signatures needed to be valid to get the measure onto the ballot. It is the second time in two years the Columbus Community Bill of Rights has failed to gather enough valid signatures.
