AP Obtains Memo Of Understanding Signed Before Failed Greg Schiano Deal With U.T.

youtube

Former University of Tennessee athletic director John Currie and Ohio State defensive coordinator Greg Schiano had signed a memorandum of understanding to make Schiano the school's head football coach before the deal fell apart amid a public backlash. Terms of the memo obtained by the Associated Press show Schiano would have received a six-year, 27 million dollar contract. Tennessee officials say they believe the document isn't legally binding because the school's chief financial officer and chancellor never signed it. Currie was suspended five days after the deal fell through.
