AP Obtains Records In Local Murder-Suicide

Hocking County Sheriff's records show a woman killed in a murder-suicide last year accused her attacker in the final minutes of her life of the 1972 death of her sister. Barbara Mohler is quoted in documents obtained by The Associated Press telling brother-in-law Paul Gilkey she had proof the death of her sister was not a suicide. Gilkey killed Mohler, another sister, Dorothy Cherry and his adult son, Leroy Gilkey, before taking his own life in January 2012. Shortly after the killings the  County coroner changed the cause of death of Mohler and Cherry's sister, Carolyn  from suicide to undetermined. Sheriff's investigators were unable find evidence to back up Mohler's claim.
