Appeals Court Overturns Conviction Of Ohio Air National Guard Member

U.S. Air Force

A U.S. Air Force Court of Criminal Appeals has overturned the conviction and court-martial of an Ohio Air National Guard member for an on-duty sex crime.

Wright-Patterson Air Force Base officials said Master Sergeant Steven Pflug had inappropriate contact with a woman while serving in Japan in 2014. Despite strenuously denying the allegations, Pflug was sentenced to serve 20 days in Wright-Patt's jail and a demotion. Public documents show the court earlier this month upheld Pflug's claim that the evidence was legally and factually insufficient, and that the military judge made errors in the case.
