Appeals Court Upholds Conviction Of Former CCS Sub Who Showed Controversial Film To Students

New York Post

An Ohio appeals court has upheld the conviction of a former Columbus City Schools substitute teacher who showed a slasher horror film to Spanish classes at East High School. 60-year old Sheila Kearns had been convicted on multiple counts for playing the film to five different classes in April 2013.  Kearns said she thought the film had Spanish scenes.  She admitted she had not previewed the film, and did not watch it with the classes. Kearns plans to appeal.
