Arts Building Gets Reprieve

The owner and residents of the Milo Arts Complex on East Third Avenue have gotten a temporary reprieve from eviction.Columbus code inspectors had said they must complete repairs to the building by the end of Thursday because the artists living quarters and workspace is unsafe. Owner Rick Mann and the residents have been working to bring the building up to code. Now the city says they may stay and continue repairs, but Mann must hire off-duty firefighters to watch the building because open shafts to make the building fire-resistant have yet to be completed. That work is expected to be completed by Monday.
