Attorneys have dropped one of two lawsuits against Whirlpool Corporation related to a child cancer cluster in Clyde. The attorneys wouldn't say why they dropped the 750 million dollar class action lawsuit, but do say the suit could be refiled. The lawsuit attempted to link Whirlpool and others to the cancer cluster that has sickened dozens since the mid-1990s. Whirlpool has a washing machine factory in Clyde. A second suit against Whirlpool filed in May by families of the children is in federal court.
