Authorities Identify Victims Of Fatal Truck-School Bus Crash Downtown

Ohio Public Radio

Columbus authorities have identified the female pedestrian killed and male pedestrian critically injured Friday after a Groveport-Madison school bus and a pickup truck collided at the intersection of Broad and High Streets downtown. 21-year-old Ohio State University student and City of Columbus intern Stephanie Fibelkorn was killed while walking with 58-year-old Bill Lewis, Columbus' top mobility engineer. Witnesses say the truck on Broad Street ran a red light and collided with the bus, pushing the bus into the Southwest corner of the road and running over the two. Three students on the bus were unharmed. 48-year-old bus driver Brenda Detty is hospitalized in stable condition. 61-year-old truck driver Terrance Trent is also listed in stable condition. His 51-year-old passenger, Mamie Adams, is hospitalized in critical condition. Police are reviewing surveillance video from the scene to formally determine who was at-fault in the crash.
