Authorities Identify Woman Killed In Botulism Outbreak

Lancaster Eagle-Gazette

The Fairfield County Coroner has released the name of the woman who died from a suspected case of botulism after a church potluck last weekend. 55-year-old Kennetha Shaw of Rushville was one of an estimated 60 people who attended the dinner last Sunday at the Cross Pointe Free Will Baptist Church in Lancaster. 23 other people  are suspected of having the illness. Lab results have confirmed botulism in an additional case, and another person is being monitored. The suspected source of the illness is improperly canned food.
