Auto Club Projects Record Number Of Independence Day Travelers

Triple-A says a record 43 million Americans, including nearly 1.6 million Ohioans, will be traveling 50 miles or more from home for the Fourth of July holiday weekend. Auto club spokesperson Tamra Johnson.

Johnson credits higher consumer confidence and lower gas prices. She says the national average price for a gallon of regular is 2-dollars-30-cents.

Last year, Ohio's Independence Day gas prices averaged 2-dollars-72-cents a gallon, which was 86 cents less than in 2014.
