Award Offered For Information On Source Of Threats

Crime stopper groups are joining Ohio State University to offer an $8,000 reward for information about a series of threats on a chat site. Campus police announced earlier this month they had information regarding a potential shooting or another act of violence at the school's Columbus campus. The April 3 and April 7 announcements mentioned violence could happen at a "cafeteria" or other unspecified areas on campus. Police said they took the threats seriously and added extra officers on campus patrolling at or near dining facilities. Ohio State pledged $5,000, Central Ohio Crime Stoppers pledged $2,000 and Campus Crime Stoppers pledged $1,000 for information leading to the arrest and indictment of the people responsible for the threats.
