The owner of two Miami Valley shopping malls wants to buy Elder-Beerman's parent company.

Washington Prime owns the Dayton Mall and Mall at Fairfield Commons. It and another mall operator are teaming up to buy Bon-Ton and its department stores.  Bon-Ton filed for bankruptcy in February.
The chain is closing its fulfillment center in West Jefferson, as well as the Elder-Beerman department store in Dayton, in early June. The two facilities employ a total of 552 people.
