The State Highway Patrol says a tractor-trailer carrying 40-thousand pounds of beer overturned on eastbound I-70 near Springfield yesterday, closing one lane of traffic for more than eight hours.
Troopers say the driver fell asleep behind the wheel, struck a guard rail and overturned. The driver refused treatment for minor injuries. Crews had to unload most of the beer before the truck could be removed from the highway.
