BikeShare Program Equipment Maker Files For Bankruptcy

Columbus city officials say they do not expect a trickle-down effect from the financial problems of its bike-sharing supplier. Bikes and docking stations are made by Bixi, a company that has filed for bankruptcy protection with nearly 50-million-dollars in debts. City officials say the CoGo Bike Share program is run by a management firm called Alta Bicycle Share, and the city owns all the bicycles.  CoGo is an underwriter of some WCBE programming.

Jim has been with WCBE since 1996. Before that he worked as a reporter at another Columbus radio station, and for three newspapers in Southwest Florida.
