Columbus, Oh – Central Ohio should see slight economic growth this year, according to the Columbus Chamber of Commerce's Blue Chip Economic Forcast. That forecast represents the consensus of four of the region's top economists - Jim Newton of Commerce National Bank, George Mokrzan of Huntington Bancshares, Joe Mandeville of Red Capital Group, and Bill LaFayette of the Chamber. LaFayette says the business services sector should see 2 percent growth or better. He says government remains a concern, given the big state budget gap and constraints in some local municipalities. The full forecast will be presented at today's Columbus Metropolitan Club forum. LaFayette tells Mike Foley this was one of the most challenging forecasts to put together.
