Boehner Blasts Claims In Book By Ney

U.S. House Speaker John Boehner of Ohio says former Republican congressman Bob Ney of Central Ohio is a disgraced politician who went to jail, and Ney's criticisms of Boehner in a new book are "baseless and false."

Ney accuses Boehner of being more interested in playing golf and drinking than making policy and says in 2006 Boehner reneged on a promise to get him a job if Ney left Congress. Ney spent 11 months in federal prison for his involvement in the Jack Abramoff lobbying scandal.
