Columbus Division of Police

Bond is set at 500 thousand dollars for the Columbus man charged with killing his neighbor on Wednesday.

Police say 30-year-old Joshua Ferrell shot and killed 51-year-old  Mario Dipenti at a home on Westmoor Court following an argument.  Ferrell says he was acting in self-defense. It was the city's 36th homicide of the year.

Jim has been with WCBE since 1996. Before that he worked as a reporter at another Columbus radio station, and for three newspapers in Southwest Florida.
