Bond Set For Suspect In January Slaying

A Franklin County judge has set bond at 5 million dollars for a teen charged with killing another teen in January. It happened after prosecutors said 16-year-old Jesean Callender tried to send a letter from the Juvenile Detention Center asking someone to kill one of the witnesses to the shooting death of 15-year-old KaeWaun Coleman near Linden-McKinley STEM Academy. Callender will be tried as an adult. His alleged accomplice, 18-year-old Shyquan Washington, has been ruled incompetent to stand trial.

Jim has been with WCBE since 1996. Before that he worked as a reporter at another Columbus radio station, and for three newspapers in Southwest Florida.
