Bond Set For Suspect In Weekend OSU Campus Area Stabbing

Columbus Division of Police

Columbus police say Sunday's fatal stabbing of a former Columbus State Community College student in the OSU campus area may be a case of misplaced revenge and mistaken identity. Police say 23-year-old OSU student Alexander Delap apparently was trying to avenge an earlier attack on a friend when he stabbed and killed 21-year-old John Snyder near Summit Street. Police say Delap confronted Snyder and another person because one wore a jacket matching a description of someone involved in the earlier attack at a party. Police say Snyder told them before being taken to a hospital that he and his friend were in the area but weren't involved in the attack. Delap is being held on a one million dollar bond.
