Buckeye Lake Businesses Planning For Life After Dam Replacement Is Finished

buckeyelake2030.org

Buckeye Lake businesses that have seen economic struggles during the replacement of a deteriorating dam are hoping for more development after the project is completed next year. Businesses are preparing for increased boat traffic. Homeowners associations, the local chamber of commerce and government officials are participating in planning sessions this week coordinated by the nonprofit Buckeye Lake 2030. The group hopes to add more housing, public parks and marinas. The Fourth of July boat parade will return for the first time since 2014 because the state has restored the lake's depth to near normal summer levels. The dam is expected to be completed by fall 2018.
