Bucyrus Mayor Dies After Council Meeting

City of Bucyrus
Bucyrus Mayor Roger Moore died unexpectedly Tuesday night

Bucyrus officials say the mayor of the northern Ohio town died shortly after attending a city council meeting last night.

Law Director Rob Ratliff expressed sadness over 50-year-old Roger Moore's death in a press release. The cause wasn't announced. Moore was elected to the post in 2012 in the city of about 12,000 people, about 65 miles north of Columbus. He previously served on the city council for two terms before serving as council president. Current council president Sis Love takes over as acting mayor on today. Moore, a Bucyrus native, also worked as a realtor, auctioneer and appraiser. Funeral plans haven't been announced.
