Casino Tax Revenue Projections Fall Short

State casino tax revenue over the past year fell nearly 12 percent short of projections. The Ohio Department of Taxation says the 273.4 million dollars in tax revenue generated was 36 million less than predicted. The department blames competition. Five racinos have opened since casino gambling was introduced in 2012, and two more are slated to open in the coming months.
