CCS Reach Out To Students of Closed Charter School

Columbus City School officials over the weekend visited the families of students left stranded by the unexpected closure of a charted school last week.  District spokesperson Jeff Warner says the Enrollment Rapid Response teams went door-to-door to provide enrollment information for the students of FCI Academy.  The Ohio Department of Education closed the school for mismanagement Wednesday.  A few days earlier the Toledo-based sponsor, Education Service Center of Lake Erie West, suspended the school’s charter.  Warner calls the CCS outreach to students and families "a unique, proactive effort" to help the students complete the newly started school year.
