Central Ohio School Cancels Homecoming After Threat

newarkadvocate.com

Officials at Utica High School decided to cancel all Homecoming festivities this week after receiving a threatening letter.

A letter was sent to parents on Tuesday about the threat, and the district announced the cancelation of the Wednesday night bonfire, Friday night football game and Saturday night dance. Details of the threatening letter received at the school district office on Monday were not released. Utica Police Chief Cliff Bigler says the letter specifically mentioned "Homecoming." Police are investigating and security has been heightened at the school. The school district said the events would be rescheduled. Utica is about 40 miles northeast of Columbus in Licking County.
