Central Ohio Unemployment Rate Increased In September

Central Ohio's jobless rate for September remains the lowest of any metro area in the state. But the Ohio Department of Job and Family services says the region's rate rose by three-tenths of a point to 4.2 percent. The rate for Columbus and Franklin County matched central Ohio's rate. Unemployment
rates rose in 80 of Ohio's 88 counties last month. Delaware, Madison and Union had unemployment rates below 4 percent. Fairfield and Licking counties had unemployment rates of 4.3 percent, Pickaway County's rate was 4.5 percent and Morrow County's rate was 4.7 percent.
