Changing Rooms For OSU Marching Band Designated

Ohio State University has begun designating specific rooms for changing in and out of marching band uniforms during road trips, as part of an effort to undo the band's sexualized culture. That is one of the policy changes included in a regular update sent to the U.S. Department of Education mandated by a September settlement agreement ending a federal sexual-abuse inquiry.  Students also are instructed not to change in public, including on buses or in hallways; and not to socialize in others' hotel rooms. OSU fired band director Jon Waters in July, saying he knew about but failed to change the band's sexualized culture.

Jim has been with WCBE since 1996. Before that he worked as a reporter at another Columbus radio station, and for three newspapers in Southwest Florida.
