Federal Transit Administrator Peter Rogoff says the city of Cincinnati will have to return 44.9 million dollars if Mayor-elect John Cranley fulfills his promise to kill the municipal streetcar project. Some of that money has already been spent, but Rogoff says Cincinnati may not use the remaining dollars for expanded bus service and other transportation needs Cranley is targeting. Cranley says the project is too costly. Supporters say the project would spark new development and attract visitors.
