Cincinnati Officials Vote To End Streetcar Spending

Cincinnati City Council has voted to immediately halt spending on the 133 million streetcar project. The move comes amid a pledge from new Mayor John Cranley to end the project he opposes. A financial analysis of whether it would be more expensive to stop or complete the project will now be conducted. Supporters say stopping construction will cost millions of dollars and permanently jeopardizes 44.9 million in federal funding. Opponents say they want to understand what the numbers are before they come to a final decision.
