Police in Cincinnati are expressing confidence that the city is ready to host baseball's All-Star Game even though a weekend melee raised questions about downtown safety. Officials say they have plans in place for the large crowds expected as events begin later this week ahead of the July 14 game. Police Capt. Mike Neville says many more officers will be on hand than were on scene Saturday night when people at Fountain Square began throwing fireworks, glass bottles and other objects. Police say they arrested seven people. Two officers were injured - one by a glass bottle and another by a punch. Police donned riot gear and cleared the area. Neville says police have been planning for months to maintain safety for All-Star crowds.
