Cincinnati is the first city in the nation to back an amendment to the U.S. Constitution that would guarantee the right to vote.

City Council has approved a resolution to support Reverend Jesse Jackson's proposal to make voting a constitutionally-protected right. Jackson says the Voting Rights Act gives states too much leeway on election laws and opens the door to voter suppression.
