Citizens Form Group To Oppose Columbus Zoo Levy

A group of rougly two dozen Franklin County residents has filed the paperwork to form a political action committee opposing the Columbus Zoo levy on the May ballot. The group called Citizens for Responsible Taxation says under state law, the permanent 1.25 mill levy nearly doubles the tax burden of the people. The zoo wants to use the money to build a facility downtown, expand exhibits, and build a new animal hospital.
