City Council Approves Money To Widen Hamilton Road

Columbus City Council last night approved a 7.8 million dollar contract to widen a half-mile section of Hamilton Road near Gahanna. The money goes for the second phase of the project to widen Hamilton Road to four lanes. Phase two involves the installation of an "S" curve. Sponsoring council member Shannon Hardin says traffic engineers have noted the 2 mile stretch of road is one of the most congested in the city.

The total project will cost more than 20 million dollars. Completion is expected by the end of 2018.
