Columbus city officials have declared a parking garage at 56 East Long Street unsafe. Officials say steel bars used to reinforce concrete in the 400 vehicle garage are exposed, concrete has fallen onto vehicles, an elevator is not working and there are several potholes in the facility. Despite posting warning signs and entrance barricades, motorists continued to park in the garage Wednesday. Illinois-based Next Parking runs the garage. It has 30 days to make repairs or face demolition. The city says the company is responsible for preventing motorists from parking in the garage.
