City Gives Public Subsidies To Three Private Businesses

Columbus City Council last night approved tax breaks for three private businesses. Chicago-based Coyote Logistics company is getting a 50 percent, 5 year tax break on income paid to new workers for creating 50 jobs and moving 34 others from Hilliard to downtown. Columbus Development Director Steve Schoeny.

Council also voted to approve an enterprise zone agreement with Contract Sweepers & Equipment company to purchase and redevelop a vacant commercial site into a new corporate headquarters, creating 3 new jobs and retaining 54 others. Schoeny says council also approved 50 percent, 6 year job creation tax credit for Columbus-based Superior Die, Tool and Machine company to expand its current operation on the Southeast side.

The company pledges to create 35 new jobs and retain 120 others.
