City Worker Who Helped Chinese Businesswoman Buy Coleman's Home To Be Disciplined

WCBE files

Columbus city officials will discipline the municipal employee who went beyond his official duties in helping the Chinese businesswoman who purchased Mayor Michael Coleman's home in Berwick. The city says Bob Hsieh of the Department of Development violated rules by working with Jianhua Li, the woman who bought Coleman's home, to transfer money overseas, arrange trips and hire a landscaper. Hsieh also helped her start a business in Columbus. A disciplinary hearing date is pending. Hsieh has yet to comment. The FBI and the Justice Department are investigating.
