Civil Rights Pioneer Passes Away

Funeral arrangements are pending for one of Cincinnati's civil rights pioneers. William McClain passed away this week at the age of 101. McClain was a U.S. Army lawyer during World War Two before moving to Cincinnati, where he became the first African-American City Solicitor and first African-American judge in Hamilton County.

Jim has been with WCBE since 1996. Before that he worked as a reporter at another Columbus radio station, and for three newspapers in Southwest Florida.
