Columbus, Ohio – This year, a private air charter service owned by billionaire investor Warren Buffett moved its corporate headquarters to Columbus. Netjets also laid off a portion of its global workforce and put plans to expant its Port Columbus campus on hold. Netjets was promised tax breaks from the state and the city of Columbus to expand. Netjets is seen as a major player in Mayor Michael Coleman's plan to turn the area near Port Columbus into an aviation hub.
