Activists in Columbus are trying to stop fracking and fracking waste with a local ballot issue. Carolyn Harding of the Columbus Community Bill of Rights hopes to put before voters a measure similar to ones approved in Mansfield and Broadview Heights.
Harding says the group must gather 10 thousand petition signatures to get the Community Bill of Rights on the May ballot. The group will launch a petition drive on September 10. Activists in Kent, Youngstown and Athens are also trying to get similar issues on their local ballots.
