Columbus, OH –
A study of foreclosure filings in more than 100 US municipalities finds four Ohio cities - including Columbus - among the top twenty. The Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now (ACORN) says there were 1.2 million foreclosures last year in the US, with Ohio having the eighth highest number of filings. Acorn's latest study suggests the ongoing problem has become worse. Comparing April 2007 foreclosures with April 2006 filings in six of Ohio's largest cities, ACORN found significant increases in Cleveland, Dayton, Akron, and Columbus. Katie Gall, head organizer for Ohio ACORN, discusses the findings with Mike Foley.
