The owner of Columbus Castings has extended the deadline for bids to purchase the troubled south-side foundary. The deadline has been moved from yesterday to July 25. Constellation Enterprises was said to be close to a deal to sell the foundary to a New-York based capital management firm, but that deal has apparently hit a snag. Constellation filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in May, just before laying off nearly all of the foundary workers.
